This harwood is suitable for both wooden windows and doors and is cheaper than the Accoya option. It is sourced from West Africa and the Cameroon, Sapele achieves a ‘Class 3’ durability classification, making it ‘moderately durable’.
EUROPEAN OAK TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
European Oak is a beautiful timber and features an attractive grain and we source this through an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) This species has a ‘Class 2’ durability classification and is suitable for both timber windows and doors.

This patented technology makes the Accoya timber super weather resistant, and very resilient to rotting hence it is called a 'rotless' timber which remains tough, durable and strong for years and years. The acetylation process actually removes the Accoya’s ability to absorb water and this prevents it from shrinking, swelling and rotting. It is the most expensive timber of all the options but one worth paying for.
