ACCOYA TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
Accoya tends to be the most expensive of the timbers because of its longlevity. It is a high performance modified timber made from sustainably sourced softwood. Once treated however it acts harder than hardwood. Its durability is labelled as ‘Class 1’, the highest level of durability for timber windows and other home improvements. This species is suitable for both windows and doors.
SAPELE TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
This harwood is suitable for both wooden windows and doors and is cheaper than the Accoya option. It is sourced from West Africa and the Cameroon, Sapele achieves a ‘Class 3’ durability classification, making it ‘moderately durable’.
EUROPEAN OAK TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
European Oak is a beautiful timber and features an attractive grain and we source this through an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) This species has a ‘Class 2’ durability classification and is suitable for both timber windows and doors.
