The Timbers We Use For Our Window and Doors

Barn Conversion with Timber Windows and Doors

This customer felt she would not be doing justice to her period style barn conversion if she opted for uPVC windows and doors so she opted for Flush Casement timber windows throughout the whole barn.

Even though she paid more to have Accoya timber windows rather than uPVC timber look alikes, her view was that you pay once and you are happy rather than compromising and living with regret.. With our extended Guarantees on these windows, she also has complete peace of mind.

Timber Window Heritage Installations

We supply and install beautiful and authentic styles of timber windows which retain top and long lasting quality that stands the test of time.

For our timber windows, we offer:

·* A wide range of different styles to cater for your specific wishes

* High security options for all windows and doors

·* A good range of colours and stain finishes but we also offer bespoke colours as well

·* A wide range of hardware – both modern and antique to appeal to all

·* Four beautiful timber species to choose from; rotless accoya, sapele, redwood and oak and each have their own benefits that we can chat through with you to ensure you make the right choice for your home.

Accoya is actually a softwood but has been modified by a process called acetylation. This patented technology makes the Accoya timber super weather resistant, and very resilient to rotting hence it is called a 'rotless' timber which remains tough, durable and strong for years and years. This is why it is typically used for bridges and construction sites where durability is key.

The acetylation process actually removes the Accoya’s ability to absorb water and this prevents it from shrinking, swelling and rotting. It is the most expensive timber of all the options but one worth paying for.

Acetylation is a natural process for the Accoya to undergo and there are definitely no toxins released into the environment which is good news! Accoya timber is sourced from sustainable sources and is recyclable so is perfect for the environment and for environmentally conscious customers.
