FLUSH CASEMENT TIMBER WINDOWS
Flush casement timber windows allow the sash and the frame to be flush with each other so the sash is not sitting proud of the frame, unlike the Stormproof window.
They are a great choice for those homeowners looking for the more traditional look.
These are extremely popular for older countryside properties who want to retain the more traditional feel and style.

STORMPROOF TIMBER WINDOWS
Stormproof timber window are extremely popular these days and the style shows the frame sitting proud of the sash. They used to be renowned to be more storm resistant, hence the name.
They are slightly cheaper than the Flush Casement equivalent and it really comes down to personal preference whether you opt for Flush Casement or Stormproof; we guide you through the whole process.

MOCK SASH TIMBER WINDOWS
We supply and install mock sash stormproof casement windows. These are designed to look like a sash window but they operate totally differently.
Mock sash windows are an economical alternative to buying traditional sash windows. They are designed to look like sash windows but without the higher price tag.
The Timbers We Use For Our Window and Doors

ACCOYA TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
Accoya is often known as 'rotless timber' and tends to be the most expensive of the timbers because of its longlevity. It is a high performance modified timber made from sustainably sourced softwood. Once treated however it acts harder than hardwood. Its durability is labelled as ‘Class 1’, the highest level of durability for timber windows and other home improvements. This species is suitable for both windows and doors.

SAPELE TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
This harwood is suitable for both wooden windows and doors and is cheaper than the Accoya option. It is sourced from West Africa and the Cameroon, Sapele achieves a ‘Class 3’ durability classification, making it ‘moderately durable’.

EUROPEAN OAK TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
European Oak is a beautiful timber and features an attractive grain and we source this through an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) This species has a ‘Class 2’ durability classification and is suitable for both timber windows and doors.

EUROPEAN REDWOOD TIMBER FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS
Sourced as engineered laminated stock to improve durability, this species is a cost effective option for stylish new timber windows. This softwood is preserved, primed and 3 coat spray painted making it a very durable and cost effective solution. This is the cheapest of all timber options and is suitable for windows only.

Accoya is actually a softwood but has been modified by a process called acetylation. This patented technology makes the Accoya timber super weather resistant, and very resilient to rotting hence it is called a 'rotless' timber which remains tough, durable and strong for years and years. This is why it is typically used for bridges and construction sites where durability is key.
The acetylation process actually removes the Accoya’s ability to absorb water and this prevents it from shrinking, swelling and rotting. It is the most expensive timber of all the options but one worth paying for.
Acetylation is a natural process for the Accoya to undergo and there are definitely no toxins released into the environment which is good news! Accoya timber is sourced from sustainable sources and is recyclable so is perfect for the environment and for environmentally conscious customers.
